Samson Sky secures another patent
They are on a roll - a barrel roll into the future of flying cars
Seems like only yesterday I was reporting on one of Samson Skies latestly milestones. But in the evolving world of flying cars, the train just keeps moving. Samson Sky's Switchblade is making significant strides. This innovative vehicle (an actual flying car), emerging from Prineville, Oregon, has recently been granted a new patent by the European Union for its unique wing-swing design. This addition brings the total number of patents for the Oregon-based company to an impressive six, and there are more in the pipeline, as per company officials.
Sam Bousfield, the CEO of Samson and the creative force behind the Switchblade, highlights the importance of these patents. “The ability to retract the wings and tail into the vehicle is crucial,” he explains. “It's what makes the Switchblade practical for everyday use, a feature that sets it apart in the flying car space.”
Following its inaugural flight, Samson Sky has seen a pretty huge surge in interest, with over $5.5 million added to its order books. The Switchblade's performance is notable both on the ground and in the air. It boasts a driving speed of over 125 mph and an estimated flight speed of 190 mph. Remarkably, it uses unleaded auto fuel to power both its wheels and propeller.
It’s designed for two passengers, and it offers a blend of comfort and efficiency, capable of flying up to 500 miles on a single tank of gas.
